Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Didn’t Want to Finish but Did (Because I Can’t DNF)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. I think we all have books we really don’t like and want to quit, but somehow our ability to quit makes us miserable just to finish a book. That’s what these are…

1. “House of Jaguar”, Mike Bond

2. “The Beloveds”, Maureen Lindley

3. “Shatter Me”, Tahereh Mafi

4. “The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher: A Shocking Murder and the Undoing of a Great Victorian Detective”, Kate Summerscale

5. “1984”, George Orwell

6. “The Lovely Bones”, Alice Sebold

7. “The Mortal Instruments”, Cassandra Clare

8. “The Infernal Devices”, Cassandra Clare

9. “Mockingjay”, Suzanne Collins

10. “Through the Looking Glass”, Lewis Carroll

    1. Thank you! Yeah, I don’t know, just an over-rated series in my opinion, especially when the movies came out. Horrible choices for Katniss and Peeta!

    1. Ugh! That whole series I read (when there were only three and the novellas) and it was a struggle through each one. Wish I liked them like everyone else!

  1. I know the feeling of not wanting to give up on a book! I really didn’t feel like finishing 1984 myself, but felt so compelled to since it is so insanely popular, haha. Mockingjay was a huge struggle also. Great list!
