Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. I was dreading doing this thinking that it would take me forever, but it was actually easy and I enjoyed it 🙂
1. Emmett & Jasper Cullen from The Twilight series, Stephenie Meyer
The reason I really care for Emmett and Jasper is because they are very protective and that is a quality I like. Also, I like the history behind Jasper’s transformation and how he served in the military.
2. Magnus Bane from The Mortal Instruments series, Casssandra Clare
I really liked Magnus because he was almost a comic relief throughout the series. Everyone else was so serious and emo, so he was a nice change.
3. Adam Kent from Shatter Me series, Tahereh Mafi
I love Adam despite hating the series. He was a protective and responsible character, both qualities I admire. They never pick the good guys!
4. Holden Caulfield from The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger
Ignoring the times that Holden acts immature, I enjoy him. He is different than most protagonists in novels today. While cynical, his beliefs speak the truth in humanity. I, too, hate “phony” qualities.
5. Jared Howe from The Host, Stephenie Meyer
Shocker! Again me liking someone who was in the military and the “nice guy” who never gets chosen.
6. Fili & Kili from The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien
These guys are fighters! Not only that, but they bring some comic relief to situations, as well.
7. Lon Hammond, Jr. from The Notebook, Nicholas Sparks
Don’t even get me started on this book! For those of you who know me, I HATE cheating. How anyone could like this story or movie and call it “true love” is beyond. She cheats, people! At least break up with the guy before you act! Don’t aspire to have her kind of relationship! Once a cheater, always a cheater.
8. Jesus from The Shack, William Paul Young
This book/movie was extremely controversial. I really cared for Jesus because of his ability to relate to readers, which is not far from the truth of His creation. He was just like another one of us.
9. Aspen Leger from The Selection series, Kiera Cass
Low and behold another “nice guy” getting pushed aside! Ugh! If only I were the protagonist. Aspen is just so nice and protective!
10. Miss Peregrine from Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children series, Ransom Riggs
I just totally adore her. Interestingly enough, notice how she is the only women. Just proves to show that the females generally always annoy me in novels, so if you’re ever reading one of my blog posts and I mention liking a female, be amazed! haha. Her powers are extraordinary and I admire her protectiveness of her students…both old and current.
I haven’t read any of these books but I have seen the Twilight movies and I loved Jasper too 🙂
Today’s topic was definitely hard, that’s why I switched it 😀

I like how you changed the post! I definitely agree on your Thirteen Reasons Why post. And if you watched the series, it makes it even easier to dislike him!
